In the spirit of my recent post on the 3/50 project, an alert reader sent me a link to this video, which was posted on the IndieBound website. The video, “Just Around the Corner,” was made by the Regulator Bookshop, an independent brick and mortar bookshop in Durham, North Carolina. It’s fun to watch and makes the case for sustainability when comparing purchasing from local booksellers vs.on-line alternatives. Added bonus, put your money where your life is: If you spend $100 at a local business, $68 stays in your community. Spend the same $100 at a national chain, and your community only sees $43.
Enjoy the NewsReel! (Only 1:52 long)
PS: Watch the movie to explain the title of this post.
